Common uses

  • Create a unique password for a new online account.
  • Generate temporary credentials for development or testing.
  • Produce multiple random values for an account migration or password manager.

Cryptographically secure generation

Password characters are selected with the browser Web Crypto API, and every enabled character group is represented. Generate a different password for each account and store it in a trusted password manager.

Length and compatibility

Longer passwords are generally stronger, but some services restrict length or allowed symbols. Check the service requirements before choosing the character groups.

Frequently asked questions

Are generated passwords sent to a server?

No. Password generation and display happen locally in your browser.

What password length should I use?

Use the longest value accepted by the service. At least 16 random characters is a practical default for many accounts.

Why exclude similar characters?

Characters such as lowercase l, uppercase I, and the number 1 can be difficult to distinguish when a password must be read or typed manually.
