  4. 4Copy the full metadata object or download it as JSON.

Common uses

  • Inspect camera, lens, exposure, and capture-time information from a photo.
  • Check whether an image contains GPS coordinates before sharing it.
  • Export image metadata for troubleshooting, cataloging, or documentation.

Real image and EXIF extraction

JPEG photos commonly contain the richest EXIF data, including camera and GPS fields. Other image formats can still provide basic properties and dimensions when the browser can decode them.

Current file-type limitations

Detailed PDF, audio, and video tag extraction is not yet implemented. Those files currently return basic properties and a notice rather than complete document or media metadata.

Frequently asked questions

Does the viewer upload my file?

No. Metadata extraction runs locally in your browser.

Why is no GPS location shown?

The image may not contain GPS EXIF fields, or those fields may have been removed during editing, export, or sharing.

Does it extract complete PDF or audio metadata?

Not currently. Detailed extraction is implemented for images, while PDF, audio, and video support is limited to basic file information.
